Winifred Eileen Vosburg

Age 95, of Castile, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Wyoming Co. Community Hospital in Warsaw, New York.

Winifred was born Thursday, September 30th, 1926 in LeRoy, NY, daughter of the late J. George and Pearl Legg Walters. Winifred was very active in her community as she was a member of the Castile Fire Department Ladies Auxillary, a Den Mother for Cub Scouts Pack 54 in Castile and a Girl Scout leader. Winifred also taught Sunday school at the Castile Baptist Church. She later became a member of the Rock Glen Baptist Church for many years where she ran the daily vocation bible school. Winifred enjoyed being around people, enjoyed camping with her late husband Virgil and loved bird watching.

Along with Virgil, her husband of sixty-four years, Winifred is predeceased by her brothers, Royal Walters and Donald (Gladys) Walters.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda (late John) Nicastro of Silver Springs; her son, John R. "Jack" (Deborah) Vosburg of Silver Springs; her grandchildren, Bradley (Gail) Vosburg of Springwater, NY, Lindsay (Enis) Ocal of Los Angeles, CA, Katherine Nicastro of Rochester, Kristen Nicastro of Silver Springs; her great grandchildren, Audrey Vosburg and Eli Vosburg; her sister-in-law, Irene Walters of LeRoy; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

A private graveside service for Winifred will be held at Middle Reservation Cemetery in Castile. Winifred’s memorial service will be held at 2 PM at the Rock Glen Baptist Church, Rt. 19, Silver Springs, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Castile Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 338, Castile, NY, 14427 and Rock Glen Baptist Church, Rt. 19, Silver Springs, NY, 14550.
