Wayne E. Purdy

Age 78, of Castile, NY, passed away at home on February 7, 2021.

He was born January 8, 1943 in Norwich, NY son of the late Kenneth and Ruth Hogansen Purdy. Wayne was a graduate of Alfred University receiving a bachelor of arts in Business Administration. He owned and operated Chemical Marketing Associates for over forty years. He was a charter member of the Perry Athletic Club. Wayne was a member of the YMCA. He served on the Wyoming County YMCA Board of Directors and was past President of the board. He also served on the GLOW region YMCA Board of Directors.

Wayne’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and attending all of his grandchildren’s various events and activities.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-six years, Linda Chouse Purdy whom he married on February 29, 1964; his children, Eric Purdy of LeRoy, Kelly (Bryan) Purdy Hitchcock of West Falls, Shannon (Sam) Purdy Alwine of Hanover, PA; his grandchildren, Mary Purdy, Macy Purdy, Hannah Hitchcock, Sydney Hitchcock, Shelby Alwine and Gavin Alwine.
