Wanda "Wandy" M. Hackett

Age 81, of Warsaw, passed away on September 6, 2024 at Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

She was born May 10, 1943 in Warsaw, daughter of the late Philip and Shirley McNish Cross. Wandy worked for many years as a salesclerk at Tops Supermarket in Wellsville, and then later in Warsaw. She liked crochet and sew and had a love for music. Wandy also enjoyed working as an election official and was a very active member of the Rock Glen Baptist Church. She was well known for her kindness and helping hand. Wandy was always there to give a lift to a fellow church member that needed one.

Along with her parents, Wandy is predeceased by her daughter, Cherlyn Alwart; her step-mother, Mildred “Millie” Cross Eyler; her brother, Kenneth Cross; a sister, Geri Clar; her brother-in-law, Patrick Williams.

Wandy is survived by her sisters, Phyllis Williams of Oregon, Chandra (Tom) Leitten of Silver Springs, Dawn (Michael) Lee of LeRoy, Star (James) Loftus of Oregon, Hope (Bruce) Rowning of Idaho; her sister-in-law, Barb Cross of Fillmore; several nieces and nephews. 

Friends may call on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 3-5 PM at Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Wandy's memorial service will be held immediately following visitation at 5 PM. Her burial will be held privately at a later date in Elmwood Cemetery in Batavia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rock Glen Baptist Church, 4311 Route 19. Rock Glen, NY 14550 or the Wyoming County Community Hospital, 400 N. Main St, Warsaw, NY 14569.
