Sharon G. Straw

Age 76, of Pike, NY passed away peacefully October 23, 2020 at home.

She was born May 18, 1944 in Springville, NY the daughter of the late George and Margery Tice Greene. Sharon worked at Kittinger Furniture Company in Castile were she meet her late husband Clifford. After retirement she named her house Eagles Nest, and became a loving, compassionate foster mother to countless children that passed through the house. She loved knitting, gardening and reading. Sharon was a member of the Pike Community Church, Pike Fireman’s Ladies Auxiliary, East Koy Cemetery Board, Pike Library Board, former member of Wyoming County Big Brother and Big Sister Program and Wyoming County Youth Board.

She was predeceased by her husband Clifford H. Straw in 2015. She is survived by her children Angenette (David Allen) Bacon of Gainesville, Loretta (Eric Sr.) Butler of Pike, Jason (Chloe) Straw of Gainesville, Sarena Straw of Pike; a sister, Dorothy (Mike) Scholes of Georgia; three brothers, Steve (Debbie) Greene of Leroy, Bentley (Barb) Greene of East Koy, Peter (Donna) Greene of Leroy; many nieces and nephews; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Friends may call on Friday, November 6th from 3-7 PM at the Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw, NY. A private memorial service will held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the Wilmot Cancer Center. 262 Bank St. Batavia, NY 14020 or donor’s choice.
