ONALD J. CARMICHAEL

Age 79, of Castile, passed away on November 8, 2017 at Unity Hospital in Rochester.

He was born June 23, 1938 in Cuba, NY, son of the late Jay and Jean Hoag Carmichael. Ron was a graduate of Letchworth Central School Class of 1956 and he received a bachelor?s degree in Business from Alfred University in 1960. Ron was employed as a plumber for many years with Bausch & Lomb Co. in Rochester prior to his retirement in 2001.

Ron served as Village of Castile and Town of Castile Justice for thirty-five years. He was a member of the Wyoming County Magistrates Association and the Oakland Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons. Ron was a man of many interests including geocaching and woodworking. He also held a pilot?s license for many years.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-eight years, Lynette Chastek Carmichael whom he married on June 13, 1959; his children, Jeffrey (Tracy) Carmichael of Cross Plains, TN, Scott Carmichael of Castile, Kelly (Michele) St. Germaine of Silver Springs; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Carmichael, Jr., Jared Carmichael, Chelsea Jo Carmichael, Christopher Rezer, Kaeleigh Carmichael, Kiara Hess, Kyle Carmichael, MacKenzie St. Germaine; eight great grandchildren. He was the grandfather of the late Melissa Carmichael and brother of the late Dr. Mary Arnold.

Friends may call Saturday, November 11 from 12 ? 2 PM at the Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile where Ron?s funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 2 PM. Burial will be in Grace Cemetery, Castile. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Golisano Children?s Hospital, Office of Advancemant, 300 E. River Rd., Box 278996, Rochester, NY 14627.
