Age 82, of Wyoming, NY died April 12, 2020 at his home.
He was born April 5, 1938 in Canandaigua, NY, son of the late Roger “Jack” and Gertrude Miller Appleton.
In life Roger was a man of many talents including auto mechanic, over the road big rig driver and dairy farmer as well as vintage tractor owner and restorer and owner/operator of Crabby’s Tavern in Pavilion for many years. He enjoyed hunting and shooting trap and skeet at his beloved Five Points Rod and Gun Club.
Surviving are his children, Roger (Nancy) Appleton of Bolivar, Keith (Rocio) Appleton of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Gary (Cynthia) Appleton of Warsaw, Debi (Eric) Hale of Mt. Morris; his siblings, Betty (Jerry) Thomas of Holcomb, Pauline Adkinson Appleton of Canandaigua, James (Sonia) Appleton of Caledonia, Gordon Appleton of Wyoming; sister-in-law, Tammy Appleton; his grandchildren, Ryan (Tiffany) Appleton of Bethpage, Joshua (Jenny) Appleton of Carlsbad, NM, Gregory (Amber) Appleton of Colorado Springs, CO, Rachel (Dave) Beck of Perry, Peter (Jennifer) Appleton of Warsaw, Samantha Fahey of Mt. Morris, Jamie Hale of Mt. Morris; seven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and so many friends that he considered family.
Roger was the father of the late Shawn Appleton, grandfather of the late Jonathon Appleton and brother of the late Joseph Appleton and Kenneth Appleton.
Due to the Covid-19 crisis and regulations, there are no visitations or services at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date when it is possible for all to gather again safely. Memorial donations may be made to the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wyoming County, 36 Center St., Suite B, Warsaw, NY 14569 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
