ROBERT W. DAKE

Age 84, of Castile, NY died June 10, 2016 at the East Side Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw following a lengthy illness.

He was born May 2, 1932 in Genesee Falls, NY son of the late Harold and Blanche Perrine Dake. Bob was employed for fifteen years as the Highway Superintendent for the Town of Castile. In earlier years, he worked for the Wyoming County Highway Department. Bob was a dedicated member of the Castile Fire Department for over fifty years. He was a past Chief of the department as well as a member of the Castile Exempt Firemen. Bob was also a driver for many years with the Castile Rescue Squad.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-three years, Esther Cheney Dake whom he married on July 7, 1962; his sons, Robert (Gail) Dake of Strausburg, CO, William (Melissa) Dake of Castile; grandchildren, Zachary Dake and Brianna Dake; his siblings, Louise (Alfred) Loomis of Castile, Roland (Sandra) Dake of Perry Center, Doreen Keenan of Warsaw; his in laws, Brother Nelson (Gloria) Cheney of Texarkana, TX, William (Susanne) Cheney of Westchester, OH, Suzanne (John) Neswadi of Erie, CO; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Duane and Beth Pond of Castile. Bob was the brother of the late Raymond Dake (MIA, Korea) and Dorothy Willey and brother-in-law of the late Rev. George Cheney.

There are no calling hours. Bob?s Memorial service will be held Sunday, June 26 at 1 PM at the Castile United Church of Christ (cor. N. Main & Washington Sts.), Castile. Fire Department honors will be offered as well. Private burial will be in Grace Cemetery, Castile. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Castile Fire Department, PO Box 98, Castile, NY 14427. Arrangements are being completed by Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, Castile.
