Richard Fontaine, a dedicated farmer for over 65 of his 83 years, died peacefully on April 11, 2021 at home with his loving wife of 56 years by his side. He was surrounded by all of his family in his final days.
Richard was born November 15, 1937 and married Nancy (Reding) June 6, 1964. His children are Michael (Amy), Christine (Joseph) Perry, Debora (Frank) Zielinski, Robert (Cathryn), Matthew (Michelle) and David (Erin) Fontaine.
His 25 Grandchildren include: Tyler, Trevor, and Jessica Perry; Rebecca, Alyssa and Katrina Zielinski; Jonathon (Lea), Joshua, Maria, Laura, Amelia, Emma, Joel, Jethro, Jonah Fontaine; Peyton, Patrick, Reagan, and Taylor Fontaine; Jacob, Rachel, Sarah, and Thomas Fontaine; Kayden and Nathan Fontaine. He has 1 great grandson: Julian Fontaine.
Richard was a dairy farmer for many years and was actively taking care of his beef animals until recently. He appreciated help from his 2 youngest sons and several nearby grandkids. At haying time any available family, including significant others, would arrive to help out and have fun together.
Richard was the son of the late LaVern and Marie (Kibler) Fontaine, brother of MaryAnn (Norman) Murphy, Joan (William) George, Edward (Janet) Fontaine and the late Robert Fontaine.
Friends may call Monday, April 19th, 2021 from 3-7pm at Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main Street, Warsaw. A private funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Warsaw.
