Richard C. Hastings

Age 97, of Castile, formerly of Portageville, passed away on December 28, 2022 at the Charlotte House Comfort Care in North Java, NY.

He was born July 30, 1925 in Geneva, NY, son of the late Jay and Beulah Brooks Hastings. Dick was employed for over twenty years as an officer with the New York State Police, retiring as a Sargent. He also served for many years as the Justice for the Town of Genesee Falls. Dick was also a longtime member of the former Church of the Assumption in Portageville.

Dick was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nora who died January 18, 1992. They were married October 20, 1960.

Surviving are his son and daughter in law, Jeffery (Libby) Hastings of Castile; grandchildren, Angela Jaroszek and Michael Edwards and many nieces and nephews.

Services are private. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery in Portageville at a later date. Memorials in Dick’s memory may be made to the Castile Fire Department, PO Box 98, Castile, NY 14427.
