Age 88 of East Bethany passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester.
Richard was born July 11, 1933 in Buffalo, New York a son of the late Elmer and Emma Malacin Harris. He worked as a manufacturer at Lapp Insulators in LeRoy for many years. Richard, and his wife of seventeen years, Barb Schmidt Harris were married on April 17, 2004.
He was a member of the Triumph Owners Club and BSA Owner Club. Richard was well known around the world and had a passion for showing and restoring vintage British motorcycles and loved to ride them as well. Richard made four trips on a vintage motorcycle across the country to Santa Barbara, CA and back. He also enjoyed traveling to watch motorcycle "observed trial" events. A man of many talents, Richard also built long rifles from scratch and was a pilot. He was a sports enthusiast, adventurist, hunter, avid reader and loved traveling in his MG midget car. Richard had a strong Christian faith and enjoyed being with his family and friends.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Jean; a son, Neil Harris and his sister, Alberta.
Surviving along with his wife, Barb, is daughter, Vicky Harris; sons, Paul (Debbie) Harris, Daniel (Christine Otis) Harris, and Douglas (RoseAnn) Harris; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 1pm to 3pm at Robinson And Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Richard's Memorial Service will be held immediately following calling hours at 3pm on Saturday, March 12, 2022.
