Age 89, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2019 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.
She was born on January 25, 1930 in Rochester, NY. Phyllis was employed for many years as a home health aide and companion. She was also formerly the co owner of the Warsaw Dairy Bar. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Rochester. Phyllis had also been a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #560 in Warsaw.
She was an avid bowler in earlier years having bowled in various leagues. She enjoyed gardening and loved ballroom dancing and square dancing.
Phyllis was predeceased by her mother, Esther Hammond and siblings, Betty Hammond, Ruth Hammond, Joyce Hammond and John Hammond.
Surviving are her children, Pamela (Larry Holt) Dunbar of Winter Springs, FL, Pasa (Jerry Marley) Robinson of Warsaw, Bob Potter of Rochester; grandchildren, Eric (Diana Varga) Dunbar, Jessica (Ian) Jones, Peter (Alyson) Robinson, Kelly (Chris) Keough; great grandchildren, Maya, Ulysses, Ava, Olivia, Elizabeth and Jack; sister-in-law, Dorothy Hammond of Illinois.
Friends may call Friday, August 23 from 4 – 7 PM at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where Phyllis’ funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 7 PM. Burial will be in Irondequoit Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 435 E. Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620.
