Patricia Anne Safford Mayer

Age 93, of Warsaw, formerly of Pike, passed away on March 22, 2024 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Peter Mayer Jr., whom she married September 18, 1949; her children, David (Cheryl) Mayer, Susan (Robert) Harcleroad, John (Marcia) Mayer, Peter (Joan) Mayer, Sandy (Robert) King, Patrick Mayer, Cindy Mayer; her brother, Bill Safford; her sister, Beverly Scritchfield; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Patricia is predeceased by her parents, Cardinal and Mildred Campbell Safford; son, Steven Mayer; daughter-in-law, Edna Mayer; grandchildren, Nicki Sue Mayer, Christopher Mayer, Teresa Mayer; great grandson, Owen Brown.

While raising eight children in the town of Pike, she found time to be, Town Clerk of Pike, Cub Scout Den Mother, Librarian, Town Historian, a member of the Pike Fireman’s Auxiliary and worked at the Pike Red and White as well as the Pike Specialty Shop, among other endeavors. Patricia also enjoyed gardening, bowling and taking care of her horses.
