Mary A. Colombo

Age 100, of Portageville, NY, passed away on February 2, 2021 at the Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Williamsville, following a brief illness.

She was born March 17, 1920 in Portageville, daughter of the late Onofrio and Vincenza Panepinto Colombo. Mary was a longtime member of the former Church of the Assumption in Portageville. In earlier years, she was employed at the Perry Knitting Mill. She spent many years as a waitress both at the Letchworth Court and the Glen Iris Inn in Letchworth State Park.

Mary was a woman of great faith. She loved being with her family, whether it was conversing across the kitchen table about politics or at large family functions. She was greatly loved by all her siblings, nieces and nephews and extended family and she will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her brother, Joseph (Mildred) Colombo of Nunda; her sister-in-law, Jean Colombo of Fillmore; her brother-in-law, Richard Hastings of Warsaw; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Pauline Webster, Nora Hastings and Samuel Colombo.

Friends may call Monday, February 8 from 4 – 6 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Mary’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 9 at 11 AM at St. Isidore’s Parish, St. Mary’s Church site, Silver Springs. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Portageville at a later date. Due to Covid 19 precautions, the funeral home is limited to 33 % capacity and the church is limited to thirty people. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
