MARK K WASHBURN

Age 91, of W. Mill St., Castile, died at home under the care of hospice and his loving family on August 23, 2013.

He was born January 30, 1922 in Centerville, NY, son of the late Leslie and Nina Ackerman Washburn. He was employed for many years as a supervisor at the Kittenger Furniture Company. Mark was a sergeant in the Army during World War II from 1942 to 1946 and was a member of the American Legion Post 753 for 67 years. He was a member for the United Church of Christ in Castile. Mark was an avid bowler and golfer.

Mark was predeceased by a son, Kenneth James Washburn, and by his brother Llewelyn Washburn. Surviving are his wife of, 71 years, Jane Mix Washburn; his children, Stephen (Laverne) Washburn of Panama City Beach, FL, and Richard Washburn of Nashville, TN; his sisters, Edith (James) Mix, Lettie (Gordon) Yates, and Carol (George) Bigelow; and his grandchildren, Lisa Peyton, Stephanie Washburn, Chad Washburn, DeeAnn DiCocco, and Dean Daniels.

Friends may call Tuesday 12-2 at Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:30 at the United Church of Christ in Castile and a burial will be held immediately following in Grace Cemetery, Castile.
