Margaret P. "Peg" Armendinger

Age 94, of Warsaw, passed away on March 21, 2022 under the loving care of her family at her daughter’s home in the Town of Greece.

She was born May 6, 1927 in Warsaw, daughter of the late George and Estella LaWall Smith. Peg was employed for twenty years as a production worker at Archway Cookies in Perry.

Peg was a longtime member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Warsaw. She was also a member of the Christian Women’s Group in Batavia. Peg was devoted to her family. She loved her trips to Rochester and Chicago to visit her children and her beloved grandchildren and she enjoyed traveling the country with her husband, Bus. She also enjoyed socializing with her friends she met through the Taking Off Pounds Sensibly group.

Peg was predeceased by her husband, Hayden “Bus” Armendinger who died in 2014 and her siblings, Harold Smith, Chester Smith and Mildred Wright.

Surviving are her children, Sue Anne (Dennis) Gott of Chicago, Jeffrey (Jo Ann) Armendinger of Warsaw, Deborah (Robert) Kennedy of Rochester, Nancy (Michael) Grasso of Scottsville; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; her brother, Albert “Pete” (Audrey) Smith of Perry; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Wednesday, March 23 from 1 – 2:30 PM at the Immanuel United Methodist Church, 4549 Route 20A West, Warsaw where Peg’s funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 2:30. Private burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel United Methodist Church.
