Margaret Beaumont Mason

Age 97, of Castile, died November 16, 2013 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

She was born December 25, 1915 in Castile, NY daughter of the late Gertrude and Chancey Beaumont. Margaret worked at the Rochester Telephone office in Castile and later worked at the Cummings Ice Cream Parlor and Drug store in Castile. She also worked at the Glen Iris Inn in Letchworth Park. In later years, Margaret became a bus driver for her husband, who owned several buses which were contracted to Letchworth Central School. Several years later, Margaret worked for the Wyoming County Department of Social Services until her retirement.

Margaret was a graduate of Castile High School Class of 1934; was a member of the Castile Historical Society and was a charter member of the Castile Silver & Gold Club. She enjoyed crafts and sewing.

Margaret is predeceased by her husband, William S. Mason; her son, Richard L. Mason. She was the sister of the late Albert ?Bus? Beaumont and Betty Beaumont Wade.

Surviving are her daughters, Marcia (Edward) Horton of Gainesville, Dawn (Dennis) Miller of Castile; her grandchildren, C. Michael Horton, Patricia (Kyle) Mikos, Tim (Val) Miller, Kelly (Kyle) McLaughlin; eight great grandchildren.

There are no calling hours. A service will be held Saturday, December 7 at 1 PM at the Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile. Private burial will be in Grace Cemetery, Castile. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Castile Rescue Squad, PO Box 338, Castile, NY 14427 or Castile United Church of Christ, PO Box 512, Castile, NY 14427.
