Louise D. Loomis

Age 96, of Castile, passed away on January 28, 2025 at the Eastside Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Warsaw.

Born on September 28, 1928 at the family’s farmhouse in Gainesville, NY, daughter of the late Harold and Blanche Perrine Dake. She attended the Denton Corners School and Castile High School. Louise married her now late husband, Alfred Loomis, on June 2, 1951 and was a wonderful homemaker for her family of four. She worked at the Perry Knitting Mill for many years and was also a bus driver at Letchworth Central School for over twenty years. Louise was a member of the Wyoming Valley Car Club as well. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing, making crafts, reading and making cakes and decorating them for friends and family. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially on Pizza Night.

Along with her parents and husband, Louise is predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Willey and Doreen Keenan; her brothers Raymond, Robert, & Roland Dake.

She is survived by her sons, James (Marlene) Loomis of Castile, Gary (Rita) Loomis of Castile; her grandchildren, Genevieve (Christopher) Griesbaum, Rebecca (Phil) Vasile, Sheri (Daniel) Brandes, Heidi (Justin) Stroud, Christopher Loomis; her great grandchildren, Mandy (Chad) Kirby and Tony Vasile, Kelcy and Emily Brandes, Easton, Everleigh, and Barrett Stroud; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held for Louise on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 11 am at the Castile United Church of Christ, (corner of N. Main St. and Washington St.) Castile, NY, Pastor Tammy Lathan officiating. Private burial at Grace Cemetery in Castile. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Castile United Church of Christ, P.O.
