John "Jack" M. Murtha

Age 79, of Warsaw, passed away on September 17, 2023 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

He was born on March 25, 1944 in Warsaw, NY to the late Kenneth S. and Mary E. Sauer Murtha. Jack worked for his brother at Ken’s Tree Service for many years. He was a jack of all trades who enjoyed fixing lawn mowers and taking care of his plants. He also loved listening to country music.

Jack loved to make people laugh. He was a man with an infectious smile and a heart of gold. He is so loved and will be missed by so many.

He is predeceased by his daughter, Danette. Also predeceased by his siblings, Kenneth, Robert, David, Gerald, and Daniel Murtha, Marge Parmerter, Monica Sikes, and Maureen Waterose.

Jack is survived by his daughters, Misti (Lamar) Martin of Smithville, TN, Debi McGill of Charlotte, NC; his twin sister, Jean (Walt) Vincent of Bloomfield along with her children, whom Jack played a large role in raising, Gregory Murtha, Brian Chambers, and Stacey (Chambers) Gabbey; sisters, Mary Weber of Pavilion, Madeline (Angelo) Lamitina of Gainesville, Kathleen Murtha of Silver Springs; 1 granddaughter; 3 grandsons; 1 great granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
