John E. “Uncle Jack” Longhini

Age 94, of Wyoming, NY passed away on February 4, 2020 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

He was born January 10, 1926 in Cuylerville, NY son of the late Joseph and Wilhelmina Fisher Longhini. Jack was employed for many years as an electronic technician at the Sylvania Company in Batavia. He was a proud veteran of the US Army having served during World War II. Jack was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and was a longtime member of St. Michael’s Church in Warsaw and the Bostian-Rowe American Legion Post in Wyoming. Jack was also a partner with his late brother, Don Longhini in a poultry farm for several years.

Jack enjoyed walking, dancing and watching old movies. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and puttering around the yard. He was an avid John Wayne fan and Buffalo Bills fan.

Surviving are his nieces and nephews, Nancy (Jerry) Grisewood of Warsaw, Douglas (Rayelynn) Longhini of New Bern, NC, Lana (Jack) Bradbury of LeRoy, Richard (Tara) Longhini of Silver Springs, Madelyn (James) Stradford of Rogue River, OR, Barbara (the late Corky) Upright of Warsaw, Joseph (Kate) Longhini of Dansville, Ronald (Melody) Longhini of Wyoming, NY; cousins, Robert (Penny) Fisher of Wyoming, NY, Shannon Fisher of Perry; several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ernest Longhini and Donald Longhini and uncle of the late Ernest Longhini, Jr.

Friends may call Sunday, February 9 from 12 – 2 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. An American Legion service and military honors will take place following visitation at 2 PM. Following military honors, Jack’s memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Michael LaMarca. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Warsaw at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wyoming Hook & Ladder Company, Wyoming, NY 14591 or the Warsaw Rescue Squad, PO Box 22, Warsaw, NY 14569.
