Jessie C. Carney

Age 95, of Castile, NY died February 19, 2016 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

She was born January 15, 1921 in Silver Lake, NY daughter of the late Russell and Hannah Cooper Woodard. Jessie worked for many years as a seamstress at the former Castile Knitting Mill. She then worked for nine years at Champion Products in Perry prior to her retirement.

Jessie was an avid reader and card player. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and she was accomplished at embroidery.

Jessie was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Carney who died in 2003.

Surviving are her children, Marjorie Stone of Perry, David (Apryle) Carney of Shoemakersville, PA, Penny (David) Fenton of DuBois, PA; six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Clair Woodard, John Woodard and Grace Wilison.

Friends may call Wednesday, February 24 from 1 ? 2 PM at Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile where Jessie?s funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 2 PM. Private burial will be in Grace Cemetery, Castile. Memorials may be made to A New Start Kitty Shelter, 6342 Denton Corners Rd., Castile, NY 14427.
