Age 81, of Orangeville, passed away on March 3, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo.
She was born on July 20, 1943, daughter of the late Lawrence and Marie Seely Hume. Janet was a very active and accomplished woman. She was a 4-H Leader, a member of the Red Hat Society, as well as, the Daylighters and was a former member of the Bicentennial Singers. Janet was also an organist and a former florist. She enjoyed playing the accordion, woodcarving, sewing, embroidering, quilting and painting. Janet most of all loved being a homemaker for her family and somehow found time to help on the family farm as well.
Along with her parents, Janet is predeceased by a brother, Francis Hume; and a sister-in-law, Patty Hume.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Werner of Orangeville; her daughters, Carrie (Bill) Herman of Rochester, Sherri (Chris) Brosius of Hermitage; her sons, Wade (Sue) Roggow of Warsaw, Steve (Tracy) Werner of Castile; a brother, Gary Hume of Warsaw; a sister-in-law, Agnes Hume of Silver Springs; Ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Janet will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 at 1pm at Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Burial at Warsaw Cemetery will immediately follow Janet’s service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to 4-H, 36 Center St., Suite B, Warsaw, NY 14569, or Shriners Hospital at donate.lovetotherescue.org or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at stjude.org.
