James M. Hubbard

Age 66, of Bliss, passed away November 15, 2024 at Roswell Cancer Institute after battling lung cancer.

He was born January 27, 1958, in Hornell, NY. Son of Elizabeth McVey Hubbard and the late Milton Hubbard. Jim was a graduate of Rushford Central School and he worked for Don Beck Inc., Broughton Farm, and TPi Arcade. Jim was a farmer at heart. He truly enjoyed his animals of which he had many through the years including dogs, horses, steer and last but not least, goats.

Along with his mother, Jim is survived by his wife, Julia Pierce Hubbard of Bliss; his son Kenneth Hubbard of Warsaw; his daughter, Jamie Hubbard McGrath of East Arcade; his step sons, Kevin (Marie) Shearing of Gainesville, Travis (Julie) Shearing of Dayton, OH; his brothers, Thomas (Billie) Hubbard of 29 Palms, CA, David Hubbard of Washington state, Robert (Kathy Molly) Hubbard of Fillmore; his sister Meredith Hubbard of Cuba, NY.

In keeping with Jim’s wishes, there will be no service or celebration of life. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Bliss Fire Department, 6655 Rt. 362, Bliss, NY 14024 or to Animal Friends of Wyoming County, 4380 Rt. 19, Silver Springs, NY 14550.
