J. Wyatt Wolcott

Age 96, of Park Road West, Castile, died June 14, 2014 at home under Hospice care.

He was born May 2, 1918 in Castile, NY, son of the late Alton and Leone Kellog Wolcott. He worked as a pipe fitter at Morton Salt for many years. He was a member of the Wallace-Jeffers American Legion Post in Castile and a lifetime member of the 1630 Wolcott Society, a family geneology society. He enjoyed spending time at Letchworth State Park, gardening, and tinkering with different projects.

J. Wyatt was predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Beulah M. Wolcott, who died in 2011, and his sister, Irma Olin.

Surviving are his sons, James (Linda) Wolcott of Corrales, NM, Randall Wolcott of Norwich, NY; his daughters, Roxanne Seth of Huntington, WV, Cheryl (Robert) Williams of Richmond, VA; his brother Edwin (Hazel) Wolcott of Castile; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Friends may call Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 4-6 PM at Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile. His service will be held Friday, June 27, 2014 at 12 PM at the Castile United Church of Christ (cor. N. Main and Washington Sts.). Burial will be in Grace Cemetery, Castile. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Castile United Church of Christ, 4 Washington St., Castile, NY, 14427.
