Age 91, of Castile, NY died August 4, 2015 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.
He was born April 25, 1924 in Batavia, NY son of the late Michael and Mary Bachorski Cichocki. Henry was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps having served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II. Henry owned and operated Henry?s Superette grocery store in Castile for almost twenty years. He had also worked at the Massey Harris Company in Batavia.
Henry was a longtime member of St. Isidore?s Parish, St. Mary?s Church Site in Silver Springs and he was a charter member of the Silver & Gold Club in Castile. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of his yard. He also loved traveling.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-eight years, Elizabeth Weldgen Cichocki; his daughters, Gayle (Mark) Bush of Hudson Falls, Kathy (Dennis) Cardino of Ohio, Thelma (Harold) Lockwood of Texas, Diane (Tom) Stroud of Batavia, Theresa (Joel) Chastek of Rochester; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; his sister, Helen (Joseph) Heale of Batavia. He was the brother of the late Edmund Cichocki, Frank Cichocki, Anna Pastecki and Clara Tuttobene.
Friends may call Thursday, August 6 from 4 ? 7 PM at Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 7 at 10 AM at St. Isidore?s Parish, St. Mary?s Church Site, Silver Springs. Private burial will be in St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Batavia. In lieu of flowers, masses may be offered for the repose of his soul.
