Hazel I. Wolcott

Age 93, of Castile, NY passed away on August 27, 2020 at the East Side Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw.

She was born on August 27, 1927 in Rushford, NY, daughter of the late Jacob and Onolee Eaton Shade.

Hazel was a wonderful baker. She made the best peanut pie and her homemade rolls and sweet pickles were elegant. Besides baking and cooking, she loved her cats, especially her favorite, Dusty. Her gardens, both flower and herb, were beautiful. She loved her roses and geraniums which she was most proud of. Hazel always enjoyed going to the garden shops in the spring to select her favorite plants and herbs.

Hazel was predeceased by her husband, Edwin who died in 2017.

Surviving are her daughter, Karla Wolcott of Portageville; her son, Alan Wolcott of California and family friend, Linda Ries.

There are no calling hours. Graveside services at Grace Cemetery in Castile will be private. In Hazel’s memory, please make donations to the Castile Rescue Squad who are wonderful and caring people.
