Age 93, of Warsaw, passed away on January 24, 2025 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw.
She was born on June 18, 1931, daughter of the late Harold and Gertrude Caton Fagan. Elva wed her late husband, Willard Crawford in 1959 and they were married for thirty-six years before his passing in 1995. She worked at the Star Market and the A&P in Warsaw for several years before taking a job at Wyoming County Bank. Elva was employed there for twenty-three years, with eight of those years as the Head Teller. She then worked for FII following her time with Wyoming County Bank. Elva was a very active member of the United Church of Warsaw and the Order of the Eastern Star Centennial Chapter #299. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Wyoming County Community Hospital, reading, baking, and organizing dinners at the Masonic Lodge in Warsaw. Elva loved spending time with her family most of all though.
Along with her parents and husband, Elva is predeceased by her sons, Bruce Crawford and Gary Tiede; her sisters, Olive Lee and Lucille Farley; her brothers, John and Stewart Fagan; her daughter-in-laws, Clarice Crawford and Gayle Tiede.
She is survived by her daughter, Shelley (Burt) Forsythe of Texas; her son, Gary Crawford of Ithaca; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes, no services will be held for Elva. Private burial will take place at Warsaw Cemetery. Arrangements are being completed by Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home, Warsaw. Memorials can be made in Elva’s name to the Warsaw Fire Department, P.O. Box 229, Warsaw, NY 14569 or the Warsaw Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 22, Warsaw, NY 14569.
