Eloise Jean Colter

Age 79, of Warsaw, passed away on July 27, 2020 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

She was born November 19, 1940 in Pierpont, Ohio, daughter of the late Cecil and Lillian Block Champlin. Eloise served as a licensed practical nurse for approximately thirty years at Letchworth Family Medicine in Perry. In earlier years, Eloise was employed as a waitress at the former Grover’s Restaurant and the former Snack Shack Restaurant both in Warsaw. Following her retirement, she volunteered at the former Starburst Pre School and the Head Start program in Warsaw. Eloise loved spending time with her grandchildren, knitting, crocheting and reading. She was also a member of the foster grandparent program at Warsaw Central School.

Eloise was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Colter. Surviving are her children, Benjamin (Mary) Colter of Houghton, Katherine (Rick) Martin of Clio, Mich., Blake (Sandra) Colter of Lebanon, NH, LouAnn Chavis of South Warsaw, Debbie Ellis of Warsaw; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.

Friends may call Sunday, August 2 from 12 – 2 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where Eloise’s memorial service will be held immediately following visitation at 2 PM.
