Wethersfield - Elizabeth "Betty" Margaret Bumbacher, 95 of Wethersfield passed away on Sunday, (November 10, 2024) at her home under the care of HomeCare & Hospice and her loving family.
Mrs. Bumbacher was born April 15, 1929 in Warsaw, a daughter of the late Francis and Emma (Bosseler) Kersch.
Betty was a lifelong parishioner of the former St. Nicholas Church in North Java followed by St. Michael's Church in Warsaw. She was a member of the Tri-Town Senior Citizens and loved to play euchre.
She attended St. Nicholas School in North Java and Attica High School where she graduated valedictorian of her class. She was a devoted wife helping her late husband, Robert run the family farm doing the books and taxes for many years. Betty was a gifted baker. Her bread, sweet rolls, and pies are legendary. A nurturer by nature, Betty spent her life raising her children and eventually helping to raise her grandchildren.
Surviving are her sons, David Bumbacher and Michael (Lori) Bumbacher; daughters, Marie (Stephen) George, Kathleen (Durwin) Lennox, Jeanette (Patrick) Santell, Dianne (Donald "Shorty") George, Carol (Doug) Beach, Lisa (Debra Teed) Bumbacher, Joan Bumbacher, and Brenda (Bob) Beach. 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Betty is reunited in death with her parents; husband, Robert W. Bumbacher; son, William Bumbacher; great-grandson, Clayton George; brother, Vincent Kersch; and sister Rita (late Raymond) DeNeau.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 3 to 7:00 p.m. at Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 North Main Street in Warsaw. Betty's Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday (November 16, 2024) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Church, 171 North Main Street in Warsaw. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery in North Java. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Charlotte House, 4316 Rt 98, N. Java, NY 14113 or HomeCare & Hospice, 563 W.
