Elaine Mae Powers

Age 91, of Warsaw, passed away on July 31, 2024 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

She was born on May 1, 1933 in Franklinville, NY, daughter of the late Mac and Reberta Chase McGill. Elaine married her husband, John Powers, on December 24, 1949 and they were married for forty-nine years until his passing in 1999. Over the years, she worked for the Warsaw Knitting Mill, the Paper Box Company, and at Wyoming County Community Hospital.

Along with her parents and husband, Elaine is predeceased by her brother Lawrence McGill and sister-in-law, Sharon McGill.

She is survived by her children, Valerie Helm, Dennis (Kim) Powers, Lois (Raymond) King; her grandchildren, Mike Holmes and his children, Harper and Kennedy, Jeff (Andrea) Holmes and their child, Steven Holmes, Tyler (MeLynda) King and their children, Cooper and Keaton, Ross (Trish) King and their baby on the way, Michael (Cheyanne) Powers and their children, Emah, Calvin and Zayne, and Emily Powers; her nieces, Dianne McGill Carter, Patti McGill, Richard McGill.

Friends may call on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 11 AM – 1 PM at Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Elaine’s memorial service will be held immediately following visitation at 1 PM followed by an interment service at Warsaw Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Warsaw Rescue Squad, 40 E. Buffalo St., Warsaw, NY 14569.
