Duane A. Pond

Age 78, of Castile, NY, passed away on February 16, 2022 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

He was born April 23, 1943 in Perry, NY son of the late Harold and Mildred Jines Pond. Duane worked for many years for Kittinger Furniture Company in Castile, beginning his career as a line worker and working his way up to the position of Plant Manager prior to his retirement in 1990.

He was a member of the Castile United Church of Christ and the Castile Silver & Gold Club and was a former member of the Castile Community Club. In earlier years, Duane enjoyed snowmobiling and spending time at the family cabin in Canada. He was an avid model train enthusiast and collector and he loved his Labrador retrievers.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-six years, Beth Warner Pond whom he married on July 9, 1965; many extended family and friends.

There are no calling hours. Duane’s memorial service will be held Saturday, April 9 at 11 AM at the Castile United Church of Christ (cor. Washington & N. Main Sts.). Private burial will be in Grace Cemetery, Castile.
