Age 93, passed away on March 23, 2021 in Tallahassee, FL.
Dorothy was born July 10, 1927 in Arcade, NY, daughter of Albert and Dora Greenwald. She
was a homemaker and loving wife to her husband of 56 years. At age 18, Dorothy joined the United States Cadet Nurse Corps and went to Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw for training. With the war ended, she dropped out to marry a former Army soldier from Gainesville, Lloyd Rissinger. She lived in Arcade NY, Auburn NY, Depew NY, Henreitta NY, Parma OH, Miami FL, Atlanta GA and moved back to Florida after her husband's death to be near family. While living in Atlanta GA she became a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood (Philanthropic Educational Organization).
Dorothy was preceded in passing in 2003 by her husband, Lloyd A Rissinger.
Surviving are her 4 children, Gary Rissinger (Beth) of Florida, daughters Connie Dagg (Ed) of Ohio, Cindy English (Alan) of Missouri and Cheryl Legan (David) of Minnesota, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchilden and 2 great-great-granddaughters.
Friends may call Tuesday, April 6 from 1 – 3 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery at the corner of East Rd and Jordon Rd. in Gainesville, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Parkinson's Disease Research, Emory University School of Medicine, 100 Woodruff Circle, Atlanta, GA 30322. The funeral home is limited to 50% capacity and face masks are required.
