Dolores Virginia Quigley, 86, of Castile, died peacefully on October 18th, 2020 at Suzanne’s Comfort Care Home in Perry, NY with family by her side.
Born July 18th, 1934 in Paterson, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Chester “Jerry” and Mellia (Venezia) Gorski.
She was raised in West Paterson and graduated from Passaic Valley High School in New Jersey. After her husband Tom accepted a work promotion and transfer, she moved to Warsaw, NY in 1972 where she raised her family. When her youngest son was 12 she decided to go back and get her associates degree in Social Services at Genesee Community College. She worked as an Aging Service Specialist at Wyoming County Office of the Aging for 12 years.
Dolores was a loving, gentle and giving person. She was an active member of the Altar & Rosary Society at St. Mary’s Church in Silver Springs. She worked at Bingo and loved crafts, knitting, and ceramics, golf, and early evening boating cruises on Silver Lake. She always looked forward to time with family and friends.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Thomas Quigley whom she was married to for 66 years; her children Thomas (Marie) Quigley of Newark Valley, NY, Kevin (Gayle) Quigley of Rotunda, FL, Michael (Louise) Quigley of Savannah, Georgia, and Sean (Michelle) Quigley of Honeoye Falls, NY. There are 5 grandchildren: Gina (Jim), Shannon (Emil), Kevin (Danielle), Hanna, and Katie; 3 great-grandchildren Ella, Chloe, and Avery; and her sibling: Vincent (Marge) Gorski and her in-laws Owen (Joan) Quigley.
Friends may call Sunday, October 25 from 4 – 7 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 26 at St. Isidore’s Parish, St. Mary’s Church site, Silver Springs. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Warsaw. Memorial contributions can be made to Suzanne’s Comfort Care Home, 167 N. Main St., Perry NY 14530. Due to Covid-19 precautions, the funeral home is limited to 33% capacity and facemasks are required. Thank you for your cooperation.
