David E. Lanni

Age 74, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2019 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.

He was born November 10, 1944 in Warsaw, son of the late John and Doris Clark Lanni. Dave worked for the Town of Warsaw Highway Department for thirty-seven years prior to his retirement in 2013. During that time he served as Highway Superintendent for twenty-five years. He was a member of the Wyoming County Highway Superintendent’s Association and the New York State Town Highway Superintendent’s Association.

Dave had also been a longtime member of the Warsaw Fire Department. He enjoyed being outdoors; camping, hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife of twenty-three years, Shirl Lanni, whom he married on October 22, 1995; his children, Lisa (Sam) Thaw of Wethersfield, Mark (Barb) Lanni of Warsaw, Michael Lanni of Gainesville, Kip (Pauline) Lanni of Lillington, NC; grandchildren, Nichole, David, Lyndsey and Jeffrey; great grandchild, Gianna; siblings, Jerry (Sherry) Lanni of Texas, James (Barb) Lanni of Long Island and Joseph Lanni. He was the brother of the late John Lanni.

Friends may call Wednesday, August 28 from 2 – 7 PM at the Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw where a Fireman’s Memorial service will be held immediately following visitation at 7 PM.
