Clara was born in Fort Fairfield, Maine on January 3, 1933. She lived most of her life in the Warsaw, New York area. She touched so many lives by her gift of giving herself to others, which made her admired and respected in her community. She would offer her home, support, guidance, time, and her last penny if someone was in need. She was loved by so many and as one of her children, you just had to say her name around the Warsaw, New York area and you heard the story of her remarkable love and the gift she bestowed on her patients, co-workers, family, friends, and anyone that was fortunate enough to have been touched by her life. Beyond raising her 7 children, she earned her LPN degree in 1967 and went to work for Wyoming County Community Hospital and then went on to earn her RN degree in 1987. She finally retired in 1993 and continued to live a full life. Throughout her life, Clara was always up for adventure and there was nothing she wouldn’t try. Her passions were golfing, skiing, ballroom dancing, line dancing, hot air ballooning, camping, playing cards with great friends & family, making flower arrangements and beautiful outside gardens, camping, and traveling. She had so many beautiful trips that took her to places like Hawaii, Ireland, the Caribbean, Mediterranean Cruise that included Rome, Italy, Monte Carlo, Florence, Venice, and Croatia.
She viewed life as a gift and one that was meant to be lived. Life had handed her obstacles and challenges that would have set back most people, but she always found a way to overcome and ALWAYS with a smile on her face. Her positive attitude and perseverance under any circumstance gave you hope and courage that you could accomplish whatever you set your mind on. You always came away with Hope and Courage to face whatever challenges you had and an admiration for a woman that could fill your heart with a touch of her hand and a shoulder to lean on.
She leaves this world a better place and for that we honor her life, and the gift God gave us. She was an incredible Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, and Friend. She is survived by her 7 Children: Nancy Sprague, Steve McMaster, Gene McMaster, Cathy Martens, Tim (TJ) McMaster, Yvonne Wolf and Michelle Quigley along with her 15 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. Survived by her sister, Rose Marie Dahn, and predeceased 2 brothers Edward Willett and Daryl Willett.
