Carol E. Grover

Age 80, of Portageville, NY, passed away at home on April 28, 2021 under the care of her loving family and hospice.

She was born December 19, 1940 in McGraw, NY, daughter of the late Frank and Celia Bean Schink. Carol was employed for many years as a nutritionist for the Cornell Cooperative Extension in Warsaw. In earlier years, Carol worked at both the former Mallory Timers Company in Warsaw and Champion Products in Perry. She was a longtime member of the Wyoming County Bicentennial Singers. Carol was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and she loved family gatherings.

Surviving are her husband of sixty-four years, William Grover; her children, Mark Grover of Dalton, Charlene (Ron) Strain of Portageville, Valorie (Mike) Symonds of Dalton, Alicia (Steve) Bauers of Rochester; nine grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; her siblings, Agnes Ramos, Evelyn Rabel, Ruthie Wilhelm and Bonnie Fuller; several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Renee Morris and sister of the late Arnold Schink, Priscilla Maxon and Viola Wright.

There are no calling hours. Carol’s memorial service will be held Sunday, May 9 at 2 PM at the Old Paths Chapel, 181 S. Main St., Perry, NY. Burial will be in Portageville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HomeCare & Hospice, 1225 W. State St., Olean, NY 14760.
